Inside Visual Soldiers: An Interview with Our Junior Designer Rachel

At Visual Soldiers, we pride ourselves on the collaborative energy and creative passion that flow through our team. As we continue to expand, it’s important to highlight the talent and dedication that make our company a special place to work. Today, we’re excited to sit down with one of our junior designers, who plays a crucial role in bringing fresh perspectives and innovative designs to life.

Let’s dive into this interview to learn more about what inspires them, how they stay motivated, and what they’re excited about in the future.

Can you describe your role at Visual Soldiers and the key responsibilities you handle?

“I’m a junior designer at Visual Soldiers, and one of my favorite aspects of the role is its variety. Each day brings something new—whether it’s creating site maps, curating visual direction for a brand, or developing social media content and strategies. No matter the task, I focus on applying design thinking, bringing fresh perspectives, and continuously expanding my skills.”

What attracted you to join Visual Soldiers, and what keeps you motivated here?

“I have always prioritized surrounding myself with passionate, driven creatives, and Visual Soldiers felt like the perfect fit. My coworkers inspire me every day—their creativity and dedication push me to do my best. It’s refreshing to be in an environment that recognizes the importance of time to recharge and live fully, which ultimately helps us produce our best work.”

How do you integrate our company’s core values into your daily work?

“I try to bring a creative problem-solving mindset to everything I do. Whether it’s troubleshooting a tricky design issue or gathering feedback from the team, I focus on finding the best solution. Visual Soldiers has created a space where challenges are welcomed, and we’re always adapting to keep up with the fast-moving industry.”

Can you share a recent project you worked on and the impact it had on our clients?

“Rather than one singular project, I’ve been involved in managing our subscription client, StruXure, by building various web pages and print collateral. The work I contributed helped establish the foundation for the visual system we’ll be using in larger projects moving forward. The iterative nature of the subscription service allowed both us and the client to refine and better understand the brand’s evolving needs.”

How do you stay updated with the latest trends in digital marketing and design?

“Social media is a big part of how I stay inspired—I follow tons of creatives and design blogs on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. I’m always saving links to cool websites, snapping pictures of interesting packaging or billboards, and keeping an eye out for fresh ideas.”

What strategies do you use to balance creativity with meeting client expectations and deadlines?

“Lists are my go-to—I write everything down and break big tasks into smaller, manageable steps. I also switch up my workspace to stay inspired. For focused work, I might head to a coffee shop, but for collaboration or complex tasks, I rely on my dual monitors or time in the office with my team.”

Can you share a memorable challenge you’ve faced in your role and how you overcame it?

“I once hit a serious creative block while working on logo concepts for a client—nothing seemed to click, no matter how I rearranged things. I reached out to Amanda for support, and her fresh perspective helped us breakthrough. It was a reminder that stepping back and collaborating can be key to overcoming challenges.”

How do you collaborate with other team members to ensure project success?

“I really appreciate how our process encourages input from everyone on most projects. I can always rely on my coworkers for feedback, proofreading, and fresh ideas at any stage, which helps ensure the project stays on track and is as strong as possible.”

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in the digital marketing and design industry?

“The industry can feel overwhelming, especially with so many paths to take and skills to learn. My advice is to build a strong foundation in design thinking, stay open-minded, and have confidence in your abilities. Also, building a network of like-minded creatives is key—not just for job opportunities, but to stay inspired and feel connected to a supportive community.”

What upcoming projects or goals are you excited about, and how do you plan to achieve them?

“We have some really exciting web projects coming up, and I can’t wait to dive in! What makes it even better is knowing I get to collaborate with such a talented and capable team. I’m confident that, together, we’ll turn these big ideas into something amazing.”

At Visual Soldiers, every team member plays an integral role in shaping the company’s culture and success. It’s clear that our junior designer brings a thoughtful, creative, and collaborative approach to every project, always striving for growth while supporting the team. We’re excited to see the incredible work they’ll continue to produce—and the many ways they’ll help us push creative boundaries.
